About
TRBMDC - Three Rivers Bernese Mountain Dog Club
The Bernese Mountain Dog or Berner Sennenhund has been in existence for approximately 100 years. The homeland for the breed is the Swiss Canton of Bern. The Bernese Mountain Dogs became working farm companions in that area of Switzerland. However, it didn't take long for the rest of world to fall in love with this magnificent breed! The first Bernese Mountain Dogs came to the United States in 1926. The breed was recognized by the AKC in 1937. The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America (BMDCA) was formed in 1968. The Three Rivers Bernese Mountain Dog Club (TRBMDC) a regional club under the umbrella of the BMDCA was formed in 1991.
Our love of the breed is the common denominator that unites us as a club.
Our members participate in conformation, obedience, therapy work, drafting, herding, and agility events.
As a group we enjoy annual Berner fun days, dog walks, picnics, and educational programs.
We welcome anyone interested in learning more about our club and our beloved Bernese Mountain Dogs to attend an event or meeting.
